Communication and Cross-Cultural Differences
Live Online, Intensive 1-day workshop
In today’s interconnected world, effective cross-cultural communication is essential for success. This 1-day training programme will provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate interactions with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Through a series of focused modules, participants will explore key concepts, identify common barriers, and develop strategies to enhance their cross-cultural competence.
The course begins with an introduction to cross-cultural communication, examining real-world examples from various industries to highlight the impact of successful and unsuccessful interactions. Participants will study Hofstede’s Cultural Dimensions and Trompenaars’ Seven Dimensions of Culture to understand how different cultural values and communication styles influence relationships and decision-making. This foundation will help identify the root causes of conflicts and misconceptions in cross-cultural settings.
Subsequent modules will focus on identifying cultural differences and overcoming communication barriers. Participants will learn about core values, belief systems, and the influence of religion, history, and tradition on communication. Interactive activities, including role-playing and cultural scenario analysis, will provide practical experience in adapting communication styles. The training concludes with building cross-cultural competence by developing cultural intelligence (CQ) and applying learned concepts to real-world case studies, ensuring participants leave with actionable skills for effective cross-cultural interactions.
