Risk Assessment and Control Activities: Application of Risk Management techniques; Practical design of control structure; Role of Management Objectives in controls; How to resolve the conflicts between operating Objectives Vs. control; Influence of Objectives; Cost / Benefit Objectives;

Real life Case Studies practicing contents of the risk register.

Designing and Implementing Controls: Practical application of the types and categories of internal controls; Managing in practice Administrative Vs. Accounting Controls; Categories of Internal Controls; Real life examples of fraud red flag indicators; Fraud Controls in practice; Contents and strategies of a Business Recovery Plan; Responsibilities of the Compliance Function and Compliance Officer;

Case studies for applying in practice effective and successful back up strategies as part of the Business Recovery Plan.

Day 2

Methods of Internal Controls: Application of Controls for Safeguarding of Assets; Organisational and Operational Controls; Personnel Controls; Applying the types of controls for Periodic Review; Facilities and Equipment controls; Managing Conflicts of Interest in the application of controls;

Analysing real-world case studies to identify control issues and solutions.

Case Studies and Group Exercises: Group exercises to formulate controls in practice for various activities of a company – sales, purchases, accounts receivables, accounts payables, production, tangible non-current assets, personnel and payroll.
