Mergers & Acquisitions Webinar – Using Financial Modelling for Comprehensive Company Valuation

1-hour preview of the Mergers & Acquisitions Advanced Level: Valuation of Companies using Financial Modelling in Excel course

In this short but intensive webinar we will show you how to use Financial Modelling to calculate all the necessary figures that we need in order to perform a concrete valuation of a company, a brief overview of the different valuation models and a brief overview when a company is diversifying into different industries.

M&A can be the lifeblood that infuses a business with fresh opportunities, new markets, and unforeseen value. It can also improve or change the business model of the combined entity. Valuation establishes a baseline for negotiations, identifies synergies, mitigates risks, supports due diligence, facilitates financing decisions, and ensures compliance with regulations. It involves determining the worth of a target company and evaluating its financial performance, assets, liabilities, and future earnings potential.

Agenda:

Simple but very powerful examples will be examined and analysed during the webinar. This short agenda covers an overview of the valuation process through excel spreadsheets including:

  • The cost of the deal
  • How the deal will be financed
  • Defining the rates of future growth
  • Using the beta of the firm in order to calculate the cost of equity using the Capital Asset Pricing Model
  • The capital structure and the Weighted Average Cost of Capital
  • A simple example of the Free Cash Flow to Firm and Equity model
  • Brief overview of other valuation models
  • Brief overview of a diversification into different industries

Even with a simple example and brief overview of the different valuation methods and diversification into new industries we will be able to appreciate the paramount importance of M&A valuation of companies in real life.
