Objectives
The programme aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to understand, apply at their personal level and implement at the organizational level the vital foundations of coaching culture and coaching style in management.
After completing this course you will be able to:
- inspire and motivate others to be creative, engaged, responsible and accountable as you wish them to be on their way to excellence.
- feel confident about your understanding of what coaching is and what coaching is not and why being a manager you are not a coach, however the better leader you are the more coaching style you would apply.
- feel confident about your understanding on how to implement coaching style into your leading practice, when to make use of it and when not to use it.
- understand perfectly that coaching management style does not replace other styles of managing people, it is an attitude that supports other styles and make them more efficient.
Training Methodology
The course will be conducted in the form of interactive and practical workshops, to ensure that the participants obtain valuable and extensive practical insights, thus immediately translating theoretical context into practical skills during both modules.
Group discussions and reflection sharing sessions will enhance the effect of highly interactive and experience-based formula.
Day 1 | Module 1: Deep dive into fundamentals, interactive discussions, reflections and practical use of two tools
You will gain in-depth insights and answer these questions:
- Is the coaching style a response to the needs of modern management?
- Who is a coach and who is not?
- Why is it important that being a modern manager you should be capable of applying coaching style?
- What are the fundamental differences between coaching and coaching style of management?
- In what situations is it worth using a coaching management style and how does it affect employees’ commitment, motivation, communication, innovative thinking and effectiveness?
- What does it mean to build “a learning organization” and why no leader can afford not understanding this?
Practical elements of this session are: interactive discussions, co-creating context based on the participants’ experience and needs, acquiring the ability to use the first two basic coaching tools which are of the highest value in the daily work of leaders.
Day 2 | Module 2: Interactive discussions, reflections and practical use of five tools
You will gain in-depth insights on:
- How leaders’ major motivators influence their management style.
- How the management style determines the organizational culture and how your own action patterns influence the organization culture.
- How elements of coaching management style integrate with four styles of situational management by K. Blanchard.
- How you can develop employees’ independence and responsibility, depending on the stage of their professional development, through the use of a coaching style.
- How you can stimulate self-awareness, the need for development, creativity, decision-making and responsibility of employees, through the use of a coaching style.
Practical elements of this session are: interactive discussions, co-creating context based on the participants’ experience and needs, acquiring the ability to use the next five coaching tools which are of the highest value in daily work of leaders, as well as gaining experience with a very useful technique for managerial self-coaching and self-reflection.
