This two-day intensive, practical and interactive training program on Financial Statement Analysis is designed to equip finance or non-finance professionals across all functions whether business managers or credit analysts or accountants and other stakeholders with the knowledge and skills necessary to interpret and evaluate financial statements effectively.

Participants will gain practical tools to assess company performance, identify financial risks, uncover underlying business risks and operational inefficiencies and support strategic decision-making.

  • Session 1: Understanding Financial Statements: Overview of the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
  • Session 2: Income Statement Analysis: Analysis of revenue trends, cost structure, gross margin, and operating margin.
  • Session 3: Balance Sheet Analysis: Evaluation of asset quality, capital structure, and liquidity ratios.
  • Session 4: Cash Flow Statement Analysis: Examination of operating, investing, and financing cash flows, including free cash flow analysis.

Day 2: Advanced Techniques and Practical Application

  • Session 5: Ratio Analysis & Interpretation: Analysis of profitability, liquidity, solvency, and efficiency ratios.
  • Session 6: Trend and Common-Size Analysis: Application of horizontal (trend) and vertical (common-size) analysis.
  • Session 7: ROE Decomposition: In-depth review of return on equity metrics and performance diagnostics.
  • Session 8: Case Study & Group Presentations: Hands-on company analysis followed by group presentations.
  • Wrap-Up, Feedback: Training review, participant Q&A, post-assessment.
